As a member of the Optical Technologies Group, Dr. Harris’ current responsibilities include assisting in business development for existing and new clients as well as enhancing current tissue oximetry technologies and propelling them into new application areas. With a broad background in physics and optics, he brings experience in areas as diverse as analog optical signal processing, spectroscopy and dynamics of rare earths, exotic and novel imaging systems, laser source development, high-energy distributed solid state lighting, laser eye protection technologies, and ocean optics. Todd comes to Triple Ring after 12 years at SRI International where he managed and contributed to a wide variety of contract R&D projects for US Government and commercial clients. Notably, he was a contributor on a project that sought to develop a minimally invasive continuous glucose monitor using mid-infrared spectroscopy and participated in the animal trials for that technology. In addition, he lent his optical modeling expertise and practical knowledge of optoelectronic componentry and subsystems to a due diligence effort for a corporate acquisition in the retinal optical coherence tomography domain.
Previous to SRI, he was with The Spectrum Lab at Montana State University where he worked on optical signal processing and optical memory technologies based on spatial-spectral holography and optical coherent transients in rare-earth activated transparent crystals – a technology platform that sought to develop ultra-wideband signal processors and optical memories for petaflops computing.
Todd received his PhD and MS, both in physics, from Montana State University – Bozeman and BS in physics from Case Western Reserve University.
Triple Ring is a co-development company. We stand side-by-side with innovators and entrepreneurs to solve hard problems, launch breakthrough products, and create new businesses.
