Previously, Nicholas worked as an intern at Triple Ring designing, constructing, testing, and reducing to turnkey operation a modular benchtop system for measuring the intrinsic scattering and absorption coefficients of optical materials, including biological fluids.
After his internship, he continued to work at Triple Ring as a consultant contributing to client projects.
As an undergraduate, Nicholas focused on biophotonics, microfluidics, and medical devices through projects and research roles. He worked in the Quantum Biophotonics group at Beckman Laser Institute on several projects including monochromatic hologram and topological insulator fabrication methods. He designed and manufactured several components of a direct drive hearing device, both as his capstone project and as a research assistant.
Nicholas graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. He specialized in Biophotonics and Micro and Nano Biomedical Engineering.
His publications includes Applications of Optically Controlled Gold Nanostructures in Biomedical Engineering
